Trading screen is just one of the tools a trader needs.

Wake up at 6 AM, alarm blasting Kanye West – Cant Tell Me Nothing. Feel a little groggy, but you’re thankful to feel the air fill up your lungs and the blood rush from your heart to the rest of your body. Say a quick prayer thanking God for the opportunity to attack the day with a focused mind and a pure heart. Shift your focus to your morning breathing routine, stretching, and yoga to start warming up the mind and body for what the day brings.

Now it’s time to narrow your focus and hone in on your mind and body connection through meditation and close studying of the Bible. Thirty minutes later, you start brewing your morning French-pressed coffee to really get your mind firing on all cylinders. Only then are you ready to open your laptop and start your day as a Forex trader.

After a few months on the rollercoaster of making the most money I’ve ever made to losing the most money in my life, I found solitude in a morning routine. I know you’re thinking … how does any of this correlate to being a profitable trader? Here’s how. Through waking your mind, body, and soul up as a trader, you alleviate the intraday stresses of the ups and downs in the market and can better make precise decisions. This helps you become the most tactile trader possible. Because the Forex market can be the most volatile and stressful market to trade, it takes 100% focus to be on top of every trade you enter.

After six months of trading against multi-trillion dollar companies and multi-million dollar prop traders, I realized that trading was more about mental fortitude than mechanics. It only takes a few months to learn the technical side of trading, such as drawing support and resistance lines or using candlestick patters in your market analysis. Sticking to that analysis after having multiple trades go negative and staying up late at night is what helps the best traders flourish. The ability to wake up in the morning and treat each trading day as a brand new experience is a must and, in my opinion, having a morning routine is the best way to do that.

For my first blog post, I wanted to give something that could be used outside of trading and could be used in all aspects of life. I think that having a solid morning routine is something that can apply to anyone. I have researched the top performers in different financial markets to see some of the things they do to prime their minds for the day; then I tried multiple things in the mornings to see what worked best for me. It does not have to be perfect or be done at a special time in the morning, all that matters is it gets done everyday. I am SO excited to continue to add value and share the things that I learn daily in the forex market. I challenge you to share this link with a friend and hold each other accountable for making a morning routine and following it.

Thank you and God Bless!
